Full-time Program

3 year program (on average): 3 trimesters per academic year / 11 weeks per trimester / Monday – Thursday 9:30am – 4:15 or 5:15pm
Students work from a live model for 3.5 hours every day. The other half of the day is dedicated to personal projects: Bargues, casts, portraiture.
All students are given a key to the studio and encouraged to work outside of regular class hours. They are advised to keep a sketchbook and to work on composition.

Evening Classes

Monday: Anatomy and Ecorche course by registration, 1-2 hour lecture portion of the class starts at 6pm and is open for audit to prospective students, please inquire info@goldentgateatelier.com
Wednesday: Life Drawing open to full-time atelier students
Thursday: Art History & Humanities class is open to all, it starts at 4:30pm. Below is the schedule for the upcoming 2017 Spring trimester:

Part-time Program

2 year program: 3 terms per year / 6 once weekly sessions per term
Group I meets on Fridays, Group II meets on Sundays
9:30am – 12:30pm students work on personal projects: Bargues, casts
1:15 pm – 4:15 pm students work on figure from a live model 

Weekend Workshops

Composition course:
2017 Spring trimester meets 5 times: Saturdays 10am – 2pm
April 29 – Intro lecture and discussion (no models)
May 20, 27, June 3, 17
working from model: 10-2

This trimester we will be focusing on the portrait. Students will select a drawing or painting by Sargent, Whistler, Tarbell or another master to copy. We will set up and work on a 3/4 length portrait from life – this will be a long pose. There will be homework for each session.
