Still life painting is of great value to the art student.  There are basically two approaches to classical still life painting: realist and impressionist.   The more detailed realist painters are from the Dutch and Spanish golden ages of the 17th Century.  Masters of the impressionist method include Cardin, Fantin-Latour and Emil Carlsen.
